Wollondilly Dietitian:
Local, Evidence-based & Personalised Nutrition Support and Medical Nutrition Therapy by Accredited Practising Dietitians - the experts in nutrition and dietetics
About us
The Wollondilly Dietitian is a proud extension of Bowral Nutrition, created to bring inclusive, evidence-based nutrition care to the heart of the Wollondilly region. Founded by Accredited Practising Dietitian Fofe Vrettos, our practice is deeply rooted in lived experience, scientific training, and a passion for helping individuals thrive through food. What began as a personal journey - navigating neurodivergence and dietary challenges within the family - evolved into a professional calling to support others with complex nutritional needs.
Our Journey
Since its inception, Bowral Nutrition has grown from a solo practice into a team with a strong focus on disability, digestive health, food intolerance, eating disorders, and women's health. Key milestones include the completion of postgraduate training and credentialling in eating disorder treatment, the addition of dedicated disability and complex care dietitians, and the expansion of services to include feeding therapy and trauma-informed care. The launch of The Wollondilly Dietitian marks a new chapter - bringing our neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed and client-centred approach to a broader community.
Mission & Vision
Our mission is to provide compassionate, inclusive, and scientifically grounded nutrition care that respects each person’s unique needs and lived experience. We envision a world where all people - regardless of neurotype, ability, or background - can access respectful, empowering support to improve their relationship with food and health. As a neurodivergent-led practice, we are committed to dismantling stigma and promoting autonomy through trauma-informed, affirming care. We firmly believe in the Health at Every Size (HAES) weight inclusivity, health enhancement, respectful care, eating for wellbeing and life-enhancing movement principles. These principles guide our approach to nutrition and wellbeing. Food is not a reward or punishment. Diet culture often labels foods as "good" or "bad," but food should be approached as a basic human need rather than something to be earned.

Frequently asked questions
What’s the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist?
All dietitians are qualified nutritionists, but not all nutritionists are dietitians.
Only Accredited Practising Dietitians (APDs) are trained to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy within our health system and recognised by government programs (Medicare/DVA/NDIS) and insurance agencies (Workcover/CTP/private health funds).
Do you work with NDIS participants?
Yes, we support NDIS participants, particularly those with neurodivergence, feeding difficulties, sensory-related feeding challenges and complex feeding needs (including tube feeding).
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed to see us privately. However, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate with a care plan from your GP.
Can I claim your services from my private health insurance?
If you have Extras Cover which includes dietitian services, you will be able to claim from your insurer. Please check with them prior to booking with us to avoid disappointment.
